Description:

Rotameter Test Rig consist of Rota meters of size 25 mm and 15mm will be provided along with necessary pipeline and fittings.

Specifications:

Stainless Steel measuring tank of size 300 X 300 X 500 mm height to measure the discharge water from the unit, provided with a gauge glass, scale arrangement and a drain valve.

Stainless Steel sump of size 950 X 300 X 400 mm height sufficient water for independent circulation through the unit for experimentation and arranged with in the flow space of the main unit.

Supply pump set of 0.5 H.P capacity to pump water from the sump to the unit through proper piping system with a gate valve to control the rate of flow.

Rigid M.S frame work compactly fitted with all the above items as self sufficient package unit, suitable for operation without any foundation.

Specifications:

a. Stainless Steel supply tank of size 900 x 300 m x 575 mm height with drain valve will be provided.

b. Small tank for supply of colored liquid, an elliptical inlet to the 25 mm. dia. glass tube of 1
m. length & control valve will be provided.

Description:

This apparatus is used to determine he metacentric height of a ship model under load and unload condition.

Specifications:

This apparatus consists of:
A flat-bottomed semi-circular ship model of size 380 x 250 x 170mm.
A tank of size 800x800x400 mm fitted with piezometer tube to measure the level of water.
A pointer to measure the angle of heel up to +/- 15 degree.
A cross bar arrangement with the provision of angling movable weights at known distance from the vertical axis through C.G.
Additional five hanging weights (50 gm. each) are provided.

Experimental capabilities:
Determination of the metacentric height for a flat-bottomed vessel under loaded and unloaded conditions.

TURGO Impulse Turbine Test rig:

Description:

Specially designed Turgo Impulse wheel with nozzles, spear value runner, impulse wheel with specially designed buckets, wheel is dynamically balanced, chrome plated, impeller held between two bearing, coupled to a dynamometer directly. Speed up to 1200rpm, capacity about 1  BHP<head about 50 meter.

Specifications:

Supply pump set of capacity 5 HP at 2800 RPM suitable for supplying water to the above turbine and for operation on 3 Phase, 440 VAC, 50 Hz.

Switch and Manual star delta starter suitable for above Monoblock pump set mounted on a panel board. A Digital RPM indicator mounted on the panel board with sensor arrangement to measure the speed of the dynamometer.

Flow measuring unit consisting of 50 mm Venturi meter and Pressure gauges suitable for the test rig.

Stainless steel sump tank of size 1000 x 750 x 500mm height to store sufficient water for independent circulation through the unit for experimentation and arranged within the floor space of the main unit.
