Heat Transferred Through Lagged Pipe Apparatus:
Description:
The apparatus consists of a metal cylinder inside which an electric heating coil wound on a silica rod is placed at the center for heating. The ends are thickly insulated to prevent heat loss so that heat flows only in radial direction through the glass wool. Three thermocouples each are placed at different place to measure temperature distribution within the cylinder. Digital voltmeter and ammeter can measure heat input, a digital temperature indicator with selector switch is provided to measure the temperature at various points. The whole system is a single unit, consists of a metallic, powder coated control panel with MS table, which gives esthetic finish.

Heat Transfer through a Concentric Sphere Apparatus:
Description:
The apparatus consists of two concentric copper spheres. Heating coil is sandwiched in between inner sphere. The space between the inner and outer spheres are filled by the insulating powder whose thermal conductivity is to be determined. The power supply to the heating coil is adjusted by using variac. Thermocouples are embedded on the surface of spheres. The whole system is a single unit, consists of a metallic, powder coated control panel with m s square tube table, which gives esthetic finish.

Thermal Conductivity of Metal Rod Apparatus:
Description:
The apparatus consists of a brass rod, one end of which is heated by an electric heating coil while the other end projects into the cooling water jacket. The rod is insulated with glass wool to minimize the radiation and convection loss from the surface of the rod and thus ensure nearly constant temperature gradient throughout the length of the rod. The temperature of the rod is measured at five different locations along the length. The heater is provided with a dimmer stat for controlling the heat input. water is circulated through the jacket and its flow rate and temperature rise can be measured. Transient Heat Conduction Apparatus:
Description:
Transient heat conduction equipment have oil heater located at left bottom of equipment. Specimen to be held in chuck which is at the top of oil heater. Thermocouple No. 3 is located inside the specimen. No. 2 thermocouple measures the air temperature. No. 1 thermocouple measures the oil temperature. Digital temperature indicator indicates respective temperatures of thermocouples as we select it by selector switch.
